2026 BMW iX Review - Luxury Electric SUV With Range, Tech, and Power to Lead the EV Pack

2026 BMW iX Review - One of the most advanced, all-electric luxury SUVs on the road, and a bold statement from BMW’s future-facing i lineup.

In this video, we’ll take a full tour of the U.S. version of the iX, from its futuristic design and tech-laden interior to performance specs, range, pricing, and everything in between. Whether you're shopping for a premium EV or just curious where BMW is headed, this video is for you.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

The 2026 BMW iX doesn’t try to blend in—it embraces futuristic design and aerodynamic function.

Exterior Highlights:

  • Minimalist styling with smooth surfaces and flush door handles
  • Oversized closed-off kidney grille (housing radar & sensors, not cooling)
  • Laser-thin LED headlights and optional BMW Laserlight system
  • Contrasting black cladding and floating roof design
  • Aerodynamic 20"–22" wheels, depending on trim
  • Panoramic roof with electrochromic shading
  • New colors for 2026: Frozen Titanium Silver, Skyline Blue, and Electric Bronze

BMW’s design language here is divisive, but undeniably bold and wind-cheating, with a drag coefficient of just 0.25 Cd.

POWERTRAINS & PERFORMANCE

The iX comes in two U.S. trims for 2026: the xDrive50 and the performance-focused M60. Both are dual-motor all-wheel-drive EVs.

2026 iX xDrive50:

  • 516 horsepower, 564 lb-ft torque
  • 0–60 mph: ~4.4 seconds
  • Top speed: 124 mph
  • Up to 311 miles of range (EPA estimated)

2026 iX M60:

  • 610 horsepower, 749 lb-ft torque (with launch control)
  • 0–60 mph: 3.6 seconds
  • Top speed: 130 mph
  • Up to 288 miles of range

Both use a 111.5 kWh battery with DC fast charging up to 195 kW, giving you:

  • 10%–80% charge in about 35 minutes
  • Up to 90 miles added in 10 minutes (ideal conditions)

Despite being an SUV, the iX handles like a BMW should, with a near 50/50 weight balance and optional adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering.
